Well we finally took our camera surfing- not easy to get pictures when I don't stay standing for too long! It's lots of fun. We are so glad to have the beaches clean and open this year. It was tough times after the earthquake when we couldn't go swimming due to the sewage contamination in the ocean around Christchurch.

Well- I cover up from the sun a lot- with my hat and gloves and sunglasses- but you kind of have to cause the sun is soooo intense. With the reflection off the water I would surely burn my eyeballs and skin. Yes, Sumner is a very pretty beach! It would be nice to live out there in some ways, but it takes 30 minutes to get downtown (more like 50 in in bad traffic), so to the university it would be even further. The winters on the beach are very windy so it tends to feel colder. So we just spend lots of time out there in summer!
