Bottle Lake Biking

After 2.5 weeks of almost constant rain, it finally cleared up a little today. It was a crisp 8 degrees Celsius- but perfect for biking and we had the trails pretty much to ourselves. Bottle Lake Forest has an extensive network of mountain biking and walking trails, and it is also adjacent to the beach. The waves were huge today.

  1. Beautiful scenery and some pretty unique looking forests. I like the photo of Cath by the ocean, good shot Brad.

  3. Those aren't eucalyptus, they are Monterey Pine (and are not native). They've been planted to log, and there is logging near by, but the rest is recreation. Their needles are all over the forest floor. It is a neat area because you have stands of the pine, then as you get closer to the ocean and the vegetation becomes the tropical native plants plants and bush like in the 2nd last picture.
